Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Dos Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Jones! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dos Santos throws a good cross that connects.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dos Santos paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dos Santos lands with a nice combination. Jones backs away looking to recover. The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones tries to clinch there but Dos Santos circles away.
Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dos Santos defends it nicely. Dos Santos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jones dives in and scores a takedown into Dos Santos's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Dos Santos looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dos Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dos Santos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looking to pass the guard. Dos Santos looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dos Santos looking for a sweep. Not yet Dos Santos, not yet. Dos Santos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Jones looking for a guillotine here but Dos Santos defends easily.
Dos Santos trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dos Santos prevents Jones from getting back to his feet. Jones is trying to control the position but Dos Santos postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dos Santos has Jones in his guard. Dos Santos is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dos Santos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dos Santos is keeping the position for now. Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones wanted to stand there but Dos Santos had control of the position. Dos Santos looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dos Santos has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Dos Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dos Santos moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jones has worked his arm free - good work by Jones!
Dos Santos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dos Santos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dos Santos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't. Dos Santos has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Jones is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dos Santos yanks on the arm and Jones is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dos Santos.
