Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Janne Puikko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franz Weimar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weimar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Steve Vai - Bad Horsie kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weimar takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Weimar ducks under a wild hook from Puikko.
Weimar tries to clinch but Puikko moves away
and Puikko counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Puikko throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Puikko missing with a left hand there. Weimar was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The fighters circling - Puikko throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Weimar avoids the head kick by Puikko.
Weimar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Weimar chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Puikko can pounce on him.

Weimar takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Puikko counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Weimar tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Puikko counters with a nice low kick that buckles Weimar's knee momentarily.
Puikko throws a body punch but Weimar moves out of range.

and Puikko counters with a nice leg kick.

Puikko turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Puikko throws a right hand that Weimar ducks under and follows up with a left that Weimar also avoids with ease.
A telegraphed right hand from Puikko misses the target.
Puikko throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Weimar's head.
Weimar tries to close the distance and clinch but Puikko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Weimar takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Weimar moves to clinch but Puikko breaks away
and Puikko counters with a slapping leg kick.
Puikko misses with a wild combination.
Weimar ducks under a wild hook from Puikko.

and Puikko counters with a leg kick.
Puikko throws a hook but Weimar avoids it easily.
Weimar wants to clinch
and Puikko counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Puikko scores with a nice body kick.
Puikko connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Weimar's hands.
Weimar tries to clinch up but Puikko circles away and keeps his distance.

Puikko plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Weimar fails in his attempt to clinch.
Weimar closes the distance but Puikko moves to the side
enabling Puikko to counter with a crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Weimar moves forwards but Puikko connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Weimar is rocked!
Puikko misses with an uppercut.
Weimar is still on wobbly legs! Can Puikko finish him?
Puikko throws a jab but it's blocked by Weimar.
Puikko feints and then cracks Weimar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Weimar down.
Weimar tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Puikko counters with a nice uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Weimar walks straight into a right hand from Puikko - that's dropped him! Puikko jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Weimar from any more punishment! Weimar complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
