Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Freezer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jay Freezer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Freezer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pablo Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freezer tries to clinch and Ortiz counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ortiz. Freezer throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ortiz blocks it with crossed arms. Ortiz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Freezer with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Freezer landing knees to the head.
Ortiz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Freezer just stands there and leans against the cage. Freezer unloads a knee to the mid-section. Ortiz lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. A knee to the head by Freezer.
Ortiz looks gassed! Freezer looking to throw knees to the head but Ortiz is blocking nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Freezer tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Ortiz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Ortiz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ortiz throwing shots but Freezer is blocking nicely. Freezer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ortiz. Ortiz decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Ortiz swats away the attempt to clinch by Freezer. Freezer tries to clinch but Ortiz is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Freezer wants to clinch. Freezer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ortiz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A combination from Ortiz does no damage. Freezer leaves Ortiz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jay Freezer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pablo Ortiz. Freezer darts in trying to clinch and Ortiz counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ortiz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Freezer has hold of Ortiz's hands but Ortiz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Ortiz is looking for a kimura but Freezer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ortiz to get the leverage. Ortiz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Freezer's head. Freezer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ortiz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Freezer defending well though. Ortiz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Freezer has hold of Ortiz's hands but Ortiz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ortiz missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortiz wants to pass to mount but Freezer is defending the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ortiz connects with a nice short shot to Freezer's temple. Ortiz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ortiz wants to pass the guard but Freezer is defending well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ortiz looks to land a strike but Freezer avoids it nicely and regains full guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ortiz throws a big right hand that misses. Ortiz stands up and waves to Freezer to follow him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pablo Ortiz dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ortiz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Freezer as he avoids it easily. Jay Freezer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ortiz gets a takedown into half guard. Ground and pound from Ortiz. Ortiz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Freezer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ortiz. Ortiz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz seems to be working for a kimura but Freezer defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ortiz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ortiz breaks from Freezer's wrist control and lands an elbow. Ortiz misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Ortiz swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Freezer is now in Ortiz's guard. A big mistake from Ortiz there, giving up the dominant position! Ortiz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Freezer tries to clinch but Ortiz moves away and Ortiz counters with a single leg into guard. Freezer didn't expect that. Freezer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pablo Ortiz has got the better of the ground game so far. Ortiz throws a strike but Freezer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ortiz is looking to sinch up a triangle. Freezer throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ortiz's body to avoid the submission. Ortiz has instead reached around Freezer's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ortiz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Pablo Ortiz!
