Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bill Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cpl. Steve Henshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Henshaw. Compton comes to the cage accompanied by Granville Bowlin - Wild Bill. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bill Compton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Cpl. Steve Henshaw!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henshaw fails with a takedown attempt.
Compton thuds his right hand into Henshaw's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Compton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Henshaw is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Henshaw has escaped and now he's on top!
Henshaw postures up in Compton's guard and throws a big left but Compton blocks it.

Henshaw is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cpl. Steve Henshaw has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Henshaw jumps guard but Compton stands there with Henshaw around his waist. Henshaw gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Henshaw has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Compton uses from the top position.
