Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hank Hill! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hill misses with a looping right. Alves moves away from the strike by Hill. Good shot there by Hill. Hill looks to throw the jab but Alves is out of range. Hill moves out of range of the strikes. Hill swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Alves takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The fighters circling - Hill throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hill misses with a hook. Alves avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Alves avoids the body shot from Hill.
Hill cracks Alves with an open hand slap. Hill shoots in and drives through. Alves sprawls well. Hill throws a jab but it's blocked by Alves. Alves cracks Hill with a right hand to the side of the head. Alves uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hill. Alves thows a left - swing and a miss! Hill throws out a loose jab but Alves uses good head movement to avoid it. Hill scores with a three punch combo!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hill thows a left - swing and a miss! Hill takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hill misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Alves.
Alves misses with an uppercut
and Hill counters with a takedown into side control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hill in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Hill postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Alves is trying to control Hill's posture but Hill avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hill moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Alves tries to bench press Hill off him but Hill keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves is not content to let Hill control the position. Alves is looking to regain half guard here but Hill keeps moving and retains side control. Alves knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hill on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Hill moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Alves on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Alves tries to get out of the position. Hill wants to control but Alves is keeping him busy. Alves is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves trying his best to control but Hill has mounted him. Hill unloads with some shots from mount but Alves bucks and avoids them well.
Hill wants to control the pace but Alves is squirming around nicely. Hill has hold of Alves's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Alves manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Alves throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Alves tries to hold on but Hill pushes him away. Hill with good strikes from the mount here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves is desperately trying to improve his position but Hill has a good base and remains in mount. A nice elbow there by Hill. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hill trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hill lands a big shot there that rocks Alves but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Hill controlling his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hill throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alves is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hank Hill dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Alves is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hill. Hill waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Alves. Alves throws a hook but Hill avoids it easily. Hill slips a straight right by Alves. Hill throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Hill counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Alves slips a jab from Hill. Alves swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Alves takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Alves lands the left hand. Alves steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hill. Hill throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Alves counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Alves stalling. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hill controlling the position well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves is controlling the pace.
Hank Hill has got the better of the ground game so far. Hill is staying active underneath Alves, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Alves wasn't doing enough on the ground. Alves throws a jab but it's blocked by Hill. Alves uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hill. Alves blocks a jab. Hill lands a glancing blow to the side of Alves's head. Nice defenses there by Hill.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hill ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alves manages to avoid it. Alves tries for a takedown but Hill sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Hill cracks Alves with a good jab. Hill slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Hank Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alves closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hill circles away. A slow jab from Hill misses its intended target. A jab lands there for Hill. Hill throws a shot from downtown. Alves moves away and avoids it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hill throws a right hand that Alves ducks under and follows up with a left that Alves also avoids with ease. Hill lands a two punch combo.

Hill misses with a straight right. Hill misses the jab. Alves is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Alves looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hill trying to hold on to Alves's head to control him but Alves postures up.
Alves is trying to control. Hill wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Alves is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hill is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Hill is looking to control Alves's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hill avoid being mounted? Alves trying to control the action but Hill is working from the bottom. Hill has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Alves not doing much here.

We're going to have a standup here because Jake Alves wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nice uppercut lands for Hill. That snapped Alves's head back.
Alves darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Alves with the ground and pound but Hill uses the opportunity to regain guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hill looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Alves tries to free his leg and advance position but Hill is retaining full guard. Hill wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hill is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hill thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Alves's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Hank Hill will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

A cross from Hill lands. Alves misses with a straight left. Hill's corner calls for a 1-2. Hill obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Hill rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alves ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hill steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alves. Hill misses the jab. Hill bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Alves's head backwards. Hill lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Hill throws out a loose jab but Alves uses good head movement to avoid it. Alves feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Alves trying to control but Hill is working from the bottom. Alves preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves looking to sit in guard and control but Hill gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hill wants to control from the top but Alves keeps moving. Hill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Alves looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hill is one step ahead there. Hill postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hill moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Hill throws a jab but it's blocked by Alves. Hill avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hill stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hill wants it to stay on the feet. A big left from Hill misses. Hill misses with an uppercut. Alves saw that one coming. Alves misses with a looping right. Alves staying out of range there. Hill displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alves throws out the jab. Alves fails with the takedown. Hill scores with a jab. Alves acknowledges it with a nod of the head. and Hill counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Alves has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hill finds it's way round the side to connect with Alves's head. A slow jab from Hill misses its intended target. Alves ducks under a wild hook from Hill. Alves is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Hill's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Alves keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hill. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nice defenses there by Alves. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alves misses with a hook. Hill keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Alves. Jake Alves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hill misses with a straight left.
And that's the end of the fight! Hank Hill comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hill has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
