The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson misses with a takedown
and Guy counters by moving into the clinch.
Guy gets control of Thompson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Guy will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Thompson wanted to stand there but Guy had control of the position.
Guy is pulling down on Thompson's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson throws an elbow that misses. Guy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Thompson's guard. Nice move by Guy!
Guy pushes down on Thompson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Guy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Thompson defend it? Guy steps over the head and cranks it - Thompson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Guy!
