Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juan Corrida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Also Zarathustra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corrida comes to the cage accompanied by Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood. Zarathustra has chosen Space Pussy as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Corrida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Also Zarathustra!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zarathustra lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Zarathustra lands a nice leg kick that just misses Corrida's sensitive parts.
Zarathustra throws a head kick but Corrida moves out of range.
Zarathustra changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Zarathustra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Corrida as he avoids it easily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Zarathustra.
Zarathustra scores with a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Corrida.

Corrida gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Corrida wants to sweep here but Zarathustra controlling him for the moment.
Corrida wants to get back to his feet but Zarathustra is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Zarathustra throws a big elbow that misses.

Zarathustra tries to free his leg and advance position but Corrida is retaining full guard.
Corrida is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Zarathustra is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Also Zarathustra was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Corrida, right into the meat.
Zarathustra tries a head kick but it misses.

Corrida throws a sloppy head kick and Zarathustra moves out of range easily.

Nice uppercut lands for Zarathustra. That snapped Corrida's head back.

Corrida tries to land a leg kick but Zarathustra saw it coming and moves away.

Corrida forces Zarathustra back against the cage and clinches.

Zarathustra breaks from the clinch.
Corrida throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Also Zarathustra has been cut.
Zarathustra throws a solid leg kick but Corrida takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Zarathustra.
Corrida fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zarathustra manages to avoid it.

Zarathustra throws a right hand that misses
and Corrida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zarathustra uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Corrida.
An inside leg kick from Corrida misses.
Corrida blocks the body kick.
Zarathustra avoids the head kick by Corrida.
Corrida ducks under a wild hook from Zarathustra.
Juan Corrida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zarathustra keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Corrida goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Zarathustra tries for a takedown but Corrida sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Corrida misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Zarathustra counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Nice shot lands for Corrida.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Juan Corrida will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Also Zarathustra's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Zarathustra shoots in for a double leg but Corrida sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Corrida counters with a thumping low kick.

Corrida misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Zarathustra throws a leg kick but Corrida moved away.
Zarathustra is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Corrida fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Zarathustra looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Corrida swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Corrida ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zarathustra moves away.
Corrida shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Corrida throws a wild body kick that Zarathustra sees coming a mile off.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zarathustra. Corrida does a little dance to reset his feet.

Zarathustra takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Corrida looks for the body kick but Zarathustra saw that one coming.
Corrida lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Corrida cracks Zarathustra with a right hand to the side of the head.
Corrida throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Corrida bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Zarathustra's head.
Corrida shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Zarathustra pushes Corrida away with a front kick.
Corrida lands a nice looking kick to the body. Zarathustra takes a step back to recover.
Corrida is looking to wear down Zarathustra with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Zarathustra takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Corrida checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Corrida just misses with a punch to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Corrida.

Corrida tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Corrida has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Zarathustra is looking for a sweep.
Corrida is working Zarathustra over with some ground and pound from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Good leg kick by Corrida there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That kick from Corrida tenderised Zarathustra's leg. Zarathustra is trying to keep his angry face on.

Corrida goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Corrida feints and then cracks Zarathustra's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Zarathustra down.
Corrida lands with an overhand left.


That has opened up Also Zarathustra's cut even more.
Corrida throws a nice inside leg kick.

Corrida closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zarathustra to the mat! Zarathustra manages to get full guard.
Corrida passes into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Corrida is pressing down on Zarathustra's thigh, looking to free his foot. Zarathustra is holding on for now.

Corrida lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Corrida is nestled in close to Zarathustra, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Zarathustra is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Corrida jumps into side control!

Also Zarathustra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Juan Corrida is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Zarathustra is trying to get back to half guard.
Corrida remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Corrida is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zarathustra can do to turn this around?

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Juan Corrida showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Corrida has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
