The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Frangote dives in and grabs Rua's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rua pushes down on Frangote's head and hops out.
Frangote shoots in for a takedown but Rua shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rua moves into range and clinches up with Frangote.
Frangote changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rua fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Diego Rua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Netinho Frangote.

Rua lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Netinho Frangote has been cut.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rua creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Frangote wants a takedown but no success here.
Rua controlling the position using the Thai clinch, unloads with a massive knee! Boom! He's out cold and slumps to the floor against the cage! I can't wait to see the slow motion replay of that one!
