Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Micheal Jordan ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Leite! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jordan lets loose with a powerful body kick. Leite will feel that in the morning. Some wild striking there from Leite.
Jordan gets the takedown into side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jordan is trying to get an arm triangle but Leite is defending well. Jordan tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Leite struggling a bit here. Leite is trying to get back to half guard. Jordan is looking to take a break and control but Leite is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jordan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Leite rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jordan 's guard! Nice work there by Leite! Jordan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Leite is one step ahead there. Leite has gone for a leg lock! Jordan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Leite's guard. Jordan trying to control but Leite is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jordan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leite swivels though and keeps the full guard. Leite wants to stand and escape but Jordan is having none of it. Leite tries to land a sweep but no joy. Leite should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Micheal Jordan . Jordan looks for the body kick but Leite saw that one coming. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jordan . Leite swats away the attempt to clinch by Jordan . Jordan keeps the fight on the outside. Jordan thuds a left hand into Leite's body. Jordan tries to clinch up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Leite fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Leite dives in and grabs Jordan 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jordan pushes down on Leite's head and hops out. Jordan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Leite counters with a shoot takedown. Jordan fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Leite wanted to stand there but Jordan had control of the position. Leite trying to control but Jordan is working from the bottom. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Leite wants to pass the guard but Jordan is keeping the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Leite looking to sit in guard and control but Jordan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jordan 's corner. There ya go! There ya go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Micheal Jordan dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jordan rushes Leite and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Leite prevents Jordan from breaking the clinch. Jordan fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jordan pulls guard effortlessly. Micheal Jordan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Leite throws a strike but Jordan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jordan wants to control from the top but Leite keeps moving. Jordan throws a big elbow that misses. Leite is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leite not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jordan trying to control the position from guard on top but Leite is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jordan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Micheal Jordan just wasn't active enough. Jordan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Leite is trying to defend but Jordan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jordan content to control rather than advance. Jordan is trying to control. Leite wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Leite is defending against the submission attempts here by Jordan .
Leite wants to control but Jordan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jordan moves nicely into side control. Jordan trying to control the position but Leite is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jordan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Leite has escaped the position, nice work there. Leite sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Leite is defending against the submission attempts here by Jordan .

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jordan is controlling the pace.
Leite looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Leite keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Leite avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jordan . And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Micheal Jordan dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Leite shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jordan as he avoids it easily. Jordan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leite tries to avoid it but Jordan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leite to the ground. Leite escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jordan is looking to land body kicks. Leite shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jordan pinned against the cage. Jordan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jordan throws a head kick but Leite moves out of range.
Leite keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Leite tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jordan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jordan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Leite is trying to defend but Jordan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jordan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Leite is trying to maintain the position but Jordan is very close to passing his half guard. Jordan is pressing down on Leite's thigh, looking to free his foot. Leite is holding on for now. Leite is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jordan passes to side control. Jordan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Leite is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Leite tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Jordan presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Jordan with good strikes from the mount here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leite tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jordan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jordan swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Leite is now in Jordan 's guard. A big mistake from Jordan there, giving up the dominant position! Leite sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Jordan doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Leite paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Jordan - great work!
