Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Blake Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gio Naza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Axe comes into the arena with For Whom the Bell Tolls blaring out of the sound system. Naza has chosen Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Blake Axe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 2, fighting out of London, Gio Naza! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Axe moves to clinch but Naza breaks away and Naza counters with a low kick, right behind Axe 's knee. Axe fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Axe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Axe has managed to clinch.
Naza is trying to trip Axe. He has hold of a leg but Axe is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Naza persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Naza controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Let's hope that Naza has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Axe throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Naza escapes and throws Axe's legs to the side, diving into side control! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Axe is looking to regain half guard here but Naza keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Naza trying to control the position but Axe is working away. Naza lands a decent elbow from side control. Naza scoring with punches from side control. Naza lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Axe down.
Axe takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Axe is looking to reverse the position. Naza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Axe is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Axe is trying to improve his position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Axe is working to avoid the ground and pound but Naza connects with a decent elbow. Naza trying to control the position but Axe is working away. Axe manages to work his way to half guard, despite Naza's best efforts. Axe tries to get to full guard but Naza has control of the leg.

Ground and pound from Naza. Naza wants to take a breather but Axe is having none of it. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Naza in particular looking to stall. Naza scoring with strikes to the body and head. Axe wants to control but Naza is keeping busy and won't allow it. Axe is looking to escape. Naza trying to pass the guard but Axe defending well. Axe is refusing to be controlled, as Naza sits in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Naza looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Axe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Naza wants to take a breather but Axe is having none of it. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Naza lands a nice short elbow. Axe moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Naza is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Axe has his foot on Naza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Naza works his way back into a safe position though. Axe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Naza defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Axe is breathing heavily. Naza landing with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Naza lands a couple of elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Naza engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Axe keeping moving, preventing Naza from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Axe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Naza is aware though and is defending well. Naza lands a couple of digs. Naza is pushing down on Axe's leg trying to pass to half guard. Axe is fighting to maintain full guard but Naza has managed to sneak the leg through. Naza takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Axe tries to roll over but Naza keeps him under control. Naza seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Naza tries to pass to full mount but Axe defends it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gio Naza dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Axe stuffs the takedown attempt from Naza. Naza gets slowly back to his feet. Naza tried to score with a low kick but Axe checks it. Naza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Axe's waist but Axe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Naza off to one side. Axe closes the distance but Naza moves to the side enabling Naza to counter with a crisp jab. Naza shoots in for a double leg but Axe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Blake Axe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gio Naza. Naza digs a good hook to Axe's body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Naza has his takedown stuffed and Axe counters with a stiff right hand. Naza misses with a looping right. Axe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Naza sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Axe darts in trying to clinch and Naza counters with a single leg into guard. Axe didn't expect that. Gio Naza has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Axe looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Naza lands a couple of decent looking shots. Axe preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Axe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Naza doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Naza manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Naza lands a couple of elbows. Naza stays in close to Axe's body and controls the position. Naza keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Axe's head. Axe wants to get back to his feet but Naza passes into half guard.
Axe wants to get back to full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Naza drops an elbow to the side of Axe's head. Naza slips a nice elbow through Axe's hands, connecting with Axe's forehead. Naza controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Naza is nestled in close to Axe, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Naza lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Axe looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Axe is trying to get back to full guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Naza connects with a nice short shot to Axe's temple. Axe on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Axe is rocked! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Oh Axe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Naza lands strikes from half guard. Naza drops an elbow to the side of Axe's head. Naza scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Naza controlling the pace. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Naza lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Axe quite badly. Axe pulls Naza in close trying to recover. Naza postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Axe on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Axe doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gio Naza! Our winner, Gio Naza, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
