Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Ronny Samuelsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Koc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rex Ronny Samuelsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kurt Koc! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koc throws a right and a left that Samuelsen avoids nicely. Some wild striking there from Koc.
Samuelsen gets the takedown into side control. Samuelsen could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Samuelsen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Koc misses with a strike from the bottom. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Samuelsen trying to control the position but Koc is working away. Samuelsen throws a strike aimed at the side of Koc's head but Koc avoids it well. Koc avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Samuelsen. Koc is not content to let Samuelsen control the position. Koc tries to get back to half guard but can't. Koc regains half guard. Koc is not content to let Samuelsen control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Koc misses with a series of wild punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koc doesn't manage to clinch there - Samuelsen circles away.
Samuelsen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Samuelsen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Samuelsen prevents Koc from getting the reversal. Samuelsen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Koc's face.
BOOM! Samuelsen connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Samuelsen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Koc can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Koc taking shots to the head. Koc is looking to improve his position but Samuelsen isn't that keen on the idea. Koc looks gassed! Samuelsen punishing his opponent with strikes. Koc is in a horrible position here. Samuelsen smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Samuelsen lands with some strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Koc taking shots to the head. Samuelsen punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koc tries to get back to half guard but can't. Samuelsen landing shots from mount. Samuelsen connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Samuelsen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Samuelsen tries to control but Koc wriggling away. Samuelsen with shots to the head and body - Koc looks very uncomfortable down there.
Koc is rocked! A nice elbow there by Samuelsen. Koc is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Samuelsen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Koc manages to avoid the submission attempt. Koc tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Samuelsen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Samuelsen working the ground and pound from side control. Koc gets back to half guard. Samuelsen is looking to take a break and control but Koc is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Koc is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koc has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Samuelsen is working away from the top position though. Koc tries to roll over but Samuelsen keeps him under control. Koc is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Koc throws a right and a left that Samuelsen avoids nicely. Samuelsen seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Koc shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Samuelsen is backing up but Koc catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Samuelsen covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Koc Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kurt Koc!
