Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Piper II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Phife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phife has chosen Fernandinho - Mais Alto as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper II moves into the clinch.

Piper II seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Phife slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Piper II controls Phife momentarily but Phife frees himself.
Piper II is really struggling to control Phife but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Phife throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Piper II works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Phife distracts Piper II with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Phife sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Piper II's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barney Phife dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!
Piper II changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Phife tries to avoid it but Piper II manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Phife to the ground. Phife escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Piper II swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Phife throws a right and a left that both miss.
Phife misses with the combination.
Phife lands with a cross.
Barney Phife seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Phife swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Phife. Piper II does a little dance to reset his feet.
Phife ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Phife throws a right and a left that both miss.
Phife throws a series of punches but Piper II moves out of range.
Phife swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Phife scores with the left hand. Piper II knows he should have avoided that one.

and Piper II moves into the clinch.

Phife escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Piper II lunges at Phife with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Phife's hand.
Piper II dives in and scores a takedown into Phife's guard.
Phife can't keep his opponent in guard - Piper II advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Piper II is trying to control. Phife wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Phife is controlling Piper II's trapped leg to prevent Piper II from advancing to side control.
Phife is looking for a sweep. Piper II is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Piper II wants to free his trapped foot but Phife is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Phife wants to control but Piper II is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Barney Phife wasn't active enough on the ground.
Piper II looks for a takedown but Phife sprawls well.

Phife moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Phife shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Phife checks a leg kick.
Piper II takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Phife takes a swing at Piper II's ribcage but misses.
Phife lands with a shot to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Phife throws a right and a left that both miss.
Phife scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Phife throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Piper II stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Phife works over Piper II's head and body with a nice combination.
Piper II is rocked!
Phife lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Piper II - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Phife!
