Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between WIlle Waara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emile Sauvage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sauvage's choice of entrance music: Chaos Is Me. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Emile Sauvage was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, WIlle Waara!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emile Sauvage!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waara swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Waara cracks Sauvage with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Waara displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Waara closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Sauvage pulls guard successfully.
Sauvage looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sauvage pulls Waara in close to prevent any damage.
Waara wants to pass the guard but Sauvage is keeping the position.
Waara trying to control the position from guard on top but Sauvage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sauvage trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Sauvage not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Waara postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sauvage is trying to control the position but Waara postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A jab lands there for Waara.

Waara scores with a three punch combo!
The fighters circling - Waara throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sauvage should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Waara tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Emile Sauvage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Waara swinging wilding here.
Waara misses with a hook.
Waara tries to bum rush Sauvage with a series of wild strikes but Sauvage uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sauvage shoots in and bounces Waara off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Waara throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Sauvage wants to control from the top but Waara keeps moving.
Sauvage is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Waara wants to sweep but no luck.

Waara has his foot on Sauvage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sauvage works his way back into a safe position though.
Sauvage tries to free his leg and advance position but Waara is retaining full guard.
Sauvage stands and throws Waara's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Waara is trying to improve his position.
Waara manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Sauvage passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waara is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Waara is breathing heavily.
Waara bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Waara wants to pass the guard but Sauvage is keeping the position.

Sauvage working for a triangle but Waara defends it easily.

Sauvage wants to sweep but no luck.
Waara forces his way into half guard.
Waara wants to take a breather but Sauvage is having none of it.
Waara wants to pass the guard but Sauvage is defending well.
Sauvage is staying active underneath Waara, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sauvage wants to improve his position but Waara is controlling well.
Waara not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Waara thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sauvage's head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Sauvage changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Waara looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sauvage in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Sauvage avoids the strikes from the bottom by Waara.
Waara is looking to reverse the position.

Sauvage wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Waara, who protects the arm well.
Waara can't do much from the bottom here.
Waara gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Waara is staying active underneath Sauvage, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sauvage throwing shots but Waara is blocking nicely.
Waara is looking to improve his position.
Waara manages to get to full guard.
Sauvage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Waara swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sauvage is looking to advance position but Waara has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that WIlle Waara will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sauvage tries to clinch but Waara moves out of range.
Waara swings for the body but Sauvage moves out of range.
Waara fails with the takedown
and Sauvage counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sauvage misses with a double jab
and Waara counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Waara throws a jab when Sauvage was well out of range.
Waara tries to bum rush Sauvage with a series of wild strikes but Sauvage uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Waara throws a lazy uppercut

and Sauvage counters with a single leg into guard. Waara didn't expect that.
Sauvage postures up in Waara's guard and throws a big left but Waara blocks it.
Sauvage wants to control from the top but Waara keeps moving.

Waara looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sauvage passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sauvage in side control, throwing shots but Waara defends.
Waara is looking for a sweep.
Sauvage just content to control the position.

Sauvage creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Sauvage is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Waara is trying to escape and Sauvage transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Waara is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sauvage! Very nice indeed!
