Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dravik Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silva Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone comes to the cage accompanied by Warrior- Disturbed. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dravik Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Silva Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stone scores a takedown into full mount!
Santiago really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Santiago manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Stone is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Santiago defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santiago moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Stone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santiago swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stone drops back, looking for a kneebar! Santiago looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Santiago looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Santiago!
Santiago is trying to ground and pound but Stone uses the momentary lack of control by Santiago to regain half guard.
Stone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Stone manages to get to full guard.
Stone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Santiago manages to get himself to full guard.

Stone is just content to waste time from the top position. Santiago takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Stone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Santiago doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Santiago manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Stone closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Santiago escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Stone drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Stone swings around for an armbar but Santiago sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Stone's guard.

Stone working for submissions but it's allowed Santiago to get to half guard.

Santiago is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stone doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Santiago.

Santiago must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Santiago is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Stone to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Santiago drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stone dives on top into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well Stone has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
