Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Borisov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Lamotta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borisov comes to the cage accompanied by Blunt - The Iron Maiden. Lamotta comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Survivor - Eye of the Tiger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Borisov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tony Lamotta! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamotta takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Lamotta slips under a jab from Borisov. Lamotta throws a body punch but Borisov moves out of range. Borisov scores with a body shot.
Lamotta throws a big shot that misses. A head kick from Lamotta lands but Borisov takes it in his stride. Borisov throws a shot from downtown. Lamotta moves away and avoids it. Lamotta tries to clinch up but Borisov circles away and keeps his distance. Lamotta moves into the clinch successfully.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Borisov stopping the sweep attempt from Lamotta. Lamotta avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Borisov throwing strikes from guard but Lamotta blocks nicely. Borisov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lamotta utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Borisov throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lamotta wants to sweep but no luck. Borisov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lamotta's head. Lamotta working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Borisov. Lamotta is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Borisov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Borisov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Lamotta looking for a sweep. Not yet Lamotta, not yet. Borisov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Lamotta can't keep his opponent in guard - Borisov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Lamotta is looking for a sweep. Borisov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ground and pound from Borisov. Borisov not doing much here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lamotta can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Borisov winds up and cracks Lamotta with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Borisov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Lamotta tries to roll over but Borisov keeps him under control. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Borisov connects with a nice short shot to Lamotta's temple. Borisov performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Borisov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Lamotta on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Borisov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Borisov working over Lamotta with some ground and pound. Lamotta looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamotta has hold of Borisov's hands but Borisov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Borisov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Lamotta trying to control from the bottom.
Lamotta is refusing to be controlled, as Borisov sits in half guard. Lamotta wants to get back to full guard. Borisov working Lamotta over with strikes. Lamotta tries to roll over but Borisov keeps him under control. Borisov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lamotta with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Borisov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Borisov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lamotta is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lamotta wants to hold on but Borisov pushes him away. Borisov working Lamotta over with strikes here. Lamotta tries to lock up and control but Borisov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Borisov landing shots from mount. Borisov controlling from the full mount. Borisov fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Borisov is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Borisov!
