Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Ragnaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Hume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ragnaar's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Dead Soul Tribe - Let The Hammer Fall. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erik Ragnaar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Hume!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hume takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ragnaar keeps the fight on the outside.
Ragnaar pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Ragnaar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hume manages to avoid it.
Ragnaar takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Ragnaar thuds his right hand into Hume's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ragnaar throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hume.
Hume wants to clinch up but Ragnaar keeps it at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hume.
Ragnaar cracks Hume with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hume shoots in and drives through. Ragnaar sprawls well.
An inside leg kick lands from Hume.
Hume takes one on the button.
Hume misses with a head kick.
Hume checks a low kick from Ragnaar.
Hume takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ragnaar shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Ragnaar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ragnaar wants to land a leg kick but Hume is out of range.
A big left from Ragnaar misses.
Ragnaar scores with a nice right hand.
Ragnaar just misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hume throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ragnaar lands the left hand.
Ragnaar thows a body shot but no joy.

Hume has Ragnaar up against the cage in a clinch.

Hume drags the fight down to the ground.
Hume has control of Ragnaar's left arm, preventing Ragnaar from doing any damage.
Ragnaar throwing strikes but missing.
Hume working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ragnaar.
Hume avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ragnaar preventing the sweep.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ragnaar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Ragnaar looking to sit in guard and control but Hume gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hume is working Ragnaar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ragnaar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ragnaar is trying to keep Hume in close.
Hume is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hume accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hume throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ragnaar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ragnaar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hume is controlling him.
Ragnaar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hume on the ground.
Ragnaar is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Hume with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Hume throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ragnaar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hume has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hume trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hume in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ragnaar can't keep his opponent in guard - Hume advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ragnaar tries to get to full guard but Hume has control of the leg.
Ragnaar is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hume scores with a couple of nice shots.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hume lands a nice short elbow.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ragnaar is trying to stand up here but Hume is controlling him well.
Hume slips a nice elbow through Ragnaar's hands, connecting with Ragnaar's forehead.
Ragnaar tries to get to full guard but Hume has control of the leg.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Erik Ragnaar will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ragnaar thuds a left hand into Hume's body.
Hume takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Hume uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ragnaar.
Ragnaar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hume was well out of range. Poor timing from Ragnaar.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hume shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ragnaar pinned against the cage. Ragnaar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ragnaar feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Humes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Ragnaar feints and then cracks Hume's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hume down.
Ragnaar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hume.
Ragnaar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hume manages to avoid it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nice cross by Ragnaar.
Ragnaar dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hume. That did some damage!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ragnaar, as that shot connected.
Ragnaar scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ragnaar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hume pinned against the cage. Hume gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hume moves into the clinch successfully.
Ragnaar lands a nice knee to the body.
Hume is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ragnaar lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hume backwards.
Ragnaar lands a body shot.
Hume takes a knee right on the jaw!
Ragnaar has Hume pressed against the cage.
Ragnaar pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Ragnaar scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hume tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ragnaar smiles and moves away.
Hume takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ragnaar is looking to wear down Hume with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ragnaar lands a big uppercut and Hume crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hume looks OK. Ragnaar waves Hume back to his feet!


Hume is rocked!
Ragnaar is looking to slow Hume down with leg kicks.
Hume is still on wobbly legs! Can Ragnaar finish him?
Ragnaar cracks Hume with a left hook right on the temple and Hume goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Ragnaar lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Hume is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Erik Ragnaar!
After the fight, Erik Ragnaar was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
