These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Amazing Game!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Game misses with a hook to the body
and Wood counters with a nice uppercut.
Game on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Nice jab there from Game.

Wood darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Wood is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Game as he works his way to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wood throws a big right hand that misses.
Game looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wood is one step ahead there.
Wood has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Game keeping full guard, as Wood tries to pass.

Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but Game is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Game tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Game keeping moving, preventing Wood from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wood won't allow Game to sweep him here.

Kenny Wood has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Wood darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wood lands a nice short elbow.

Game controlling the position for now.
Wood is thwarting Game's attempts to control the position.
Wood trying to mount his opponent but Game defends it.
Wood is stalling here. Game is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Wood seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Game has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Wood's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Game is looking to take a break and control but Wood is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The strikes coming from Game are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
A control attempt from Wood but he's now mounted!
Game thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Wood is trying desperately to improve position.
Game throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Game really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Game trying to control but Wood is having none of it.

Wood regains half guard.
Wood is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Game's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Game's back!

Game breaks Wood's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wood looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Game trying to control but Wood is working from the bottom.
Wood utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Game closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wood to the mat! Wood manages to get full guard.

Wood looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Game is defending well. Wood quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Game has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Wood celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
