PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fausto Carmelon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Cahoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carmelon kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is You Found Me. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Calvin Cahoon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Cahoon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No luck for Cahoon with that takedown attempt.

Carmelon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cahoon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Cahoon is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carmelon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cahoon to his feet.
Cahoon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Carmelon digs a good hook to Cahoon's body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carmelon connects with a looping right hand.
Carmelon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice straight punches there by Carmelon. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Carmelon.
Cahoon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carmelon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Carmelon lands a jab-cross combination.

Cahoon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Carmelon!

Carmelon is desperately trying to improve his position but Cahoon has a good base and remains in mount.
Cahoon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carmelon is looking to escape.
Carmelon regains half guard.
Carmelon gets full guard.
Carmelon keeping moving, preventing Cahoon from controlling successfully.
Cahoon prevents Carmelon from getting back to his feet.

Carmelon is pulling down on Cahoon's head. It's preventing any offense from Cahoon, at least for the moment.

Carmelon pushes Cahoon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Fausto Carmelon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cahoon shoots in looking for a takedown but Carmelon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cahoon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carmelon moves into range and connects with a jab.
Carmelon throws a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carmelon connects with a right hand. Cahoon shakes it off.
Carmelon lands with a cross.
Cahoon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carmelon as he avoids it easily.
Fausto Carmelon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Calvin Cahoon.
Carmelon stalks Cahoon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cahoon's face. Cahoon staggers backwards, shaken.

Cahoon is rocked!

Cahoon is still on wobbly legs! Can Carmelon finish him?
Carmelon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carmelon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carmelon connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Cahoon! He's out on his feet! Carmelon rushes in and drops Cahoon with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

In his post fight interview, Fausto Carmelon started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
