PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Bot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rob Bot has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rob Bot seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rob Bot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greg Carter!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a body punch but Bot moves out of range.
Bot shoots in for a takedown but Carter shows good takedown defense.
Carter throws a body punch but Bot moves out of range.
Bot showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carter.
Carter scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Rob Bot has been cut.
Bot fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Carter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bot manages to avoid it.

Bot shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carter is trying to defend but Bot finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Carter is not content to let Bot control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bot seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Carter wants to get back to full guard.
Carter is positioning himself well to prevent Bot advancing to mount.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Carter misses with a straight left.
Bot staying out of range there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carter punishes Bot's body with a nice straight punch.
Carter with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Carter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bot has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Carter finds it's way round the side to connect with Bot's head.
Carter throws a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bot shoots in and bounces Carter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Carter is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Bot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carter can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bot advances to half guard.
Bot thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bot throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Carter wants to improve his position but Bot is controlling well.
Bot moves into full mount! Carter won't be happy about that!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bot landing shots from mount.
Bot unloading with bombs!
Bot raining down hammerfists from mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carter is trying to escape the mount.
Carter wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bot.
Carter tries to hold on but Bot pushes him away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee warns Carter that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bot lands with some strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Bot dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rob Bot's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bot tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carter swivels and escapes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bot shoots for a takedown but Carter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bot shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bot is trying to control. Carter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rob Bot overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bot works his way into full mount!
Bot has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carter's face.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bot cracks Carter with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bot looking to control but Carter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Bot has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carter is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Bot throws some wild stikes that Carter manages to avoid easily.
Carter holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Bot tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Bot raining down hammerfists from mount.
Bot lands a big shot to the head and Carter winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Rob Bot!
