Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bertrand Escher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Kim! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim looks to score with a jab to the body but Escher is just out of range. Kim throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Escher was covering up waiting for the punch and Kim finishes the takedown easily into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kim won't allow Escher to sweep him here. Kim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Escher swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kim drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Escher dives on top into guard. Escher got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kim has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Escher has managed to get both his arms back between Kim's legs - danger averted. Escher postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Escher throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kim works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Escher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Escher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Escher can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Escher working some strikes from top position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Escher distracts Kim with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Escher chips away with some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Escher postures up and lands a big shot to Kim's brow. Escher keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kim's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Escher connects with a couple of short punches.

Kim is rocked! Escher postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kim is still in real trouble! Can Escher finish him? Escher postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Escher arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Kim's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
