Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sparks is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Viva Las Vegas by Dead Kennedys. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Sparks!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sparks darts in and clinches Hill up against the cage.

Sparks manages to break the clinch.
Hill takes one on the button.
Good standup being displayed there by Sparks as he connects with a hook.
Hill swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hill is looking to chop away at Sparks's legs.
Hill throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hill throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sparks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hill.
Hill with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Sparks is looking to clinch but Hill is avoiding it.
Hill stuffs the takedown attempt from Sparks. Sparks gets slowly back to his feet.
Hill throws a low kick, looking for Sparks's leg but Sparks calmly moves out of range.
Sparks misses with an uppercut.
Hill uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sparks.
Hill moves away from the strike by Sparks.
Sparks ducks right into an uppercut from Hill.


It looks like Bobby Sparks has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hill ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sparks as he avoids it easily.
Sparks staying out of range there.
Sparks moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Hill throws a right hand that Sparks ducks under and follows up with a left that Sparks also avoids with ease.
Sparks slips a jab and a cross from Hill.
Sparks looks to land a right hand but Hill moved out of range.
Sparks blocks a leg kick.
Sparks fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sparks keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hill.
Hill throws a jab but it's blocked by Sparks.
Sparks shoots in for a double leg but Hill sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sparks is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sparks tries to clinch up.
Hill tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hill lands with an overhand left.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hill fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sparks.
Hill lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice jab there from Sparks.
Sparks blocks a head kick by Hill.
Hill lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sparks.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The strikes coming from Sparks are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Who's going to make the next move?
Hill has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Hill regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sparks tries to pass to full mount but Hill defends it.
Sparks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hill regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Sparks.

Hill looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sparks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hill is keeping the position for now.
Sparks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sparks landing some decent shots from guard.
Hill is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hill looking for a sweep. Not yet Hill, not yet.
Sparks looking to sit in guard and control but Hill gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hill missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sparks throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Hill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bobby Hill will probably get the nod.

Hill moves out of range as Sparks strikes.
Hill fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sparks shoots in looking for a takedown but Hill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sparks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sparks throws a series of punches but Hill avoids them all with ease.
Sparks misses with a hook.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sparks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sparks looking to pass the guard.
Hill striking off his back but it's not causing Sparks any problems.
Sparks is breathing heavily.
Hill controls Sparks momentarily but Sparks frees himself.
Hill is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sparks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sparks prevents Hill from getting back to his feet.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sparks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hill swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sparks throws a strike but Hill rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sparks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hill is one step ahead there.

Sparks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hill is aware though and is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Sparks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sparks working a defensive guard here.

Sparks is looking for a triangle but Hill pushes his legs off easily.
Sparks controls Hill momentarily but Hill frees himself.

Sparks looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hill passes into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hill is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sparks will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Sparks wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Sparks is trying to improve his position.
Hill working away.
Hill wants to control but Sparks is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hill controlling the position.

Hill tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hill has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Sparks wants to control but Hill postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sparks is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Bobby Sparks will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Sparks takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sparks misses with a low kick.
Sparks lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Sparks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hill lands a jab.
Sparks fails with the takedown
and Hill counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hill throws a leg kick but Sparks moved away.
Bobby Sparks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill lands with a nice body punch.
Hill moves out of range as Sparks strikes.
Hill connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


Sparks is rocked!
Hill tests Sparks's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sparks is still on wobbly legs! Can Hill finish him?
Hill cracks Sparks with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Sparks falls to his knees and Hill doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Hill!
