PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Six Shooter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John J Rambo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shooter might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DJ Antoine - Ma Cherie. Rambo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. American Badass kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! John J Rambo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Six Shooter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, John J Rambo!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shooter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rambo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shooter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rambo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rambo moves in looking to clinch but Shooter pushes him off.
Six Shooter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A good leg kick by Shooter.
A nice leg kick lands there from Shooter.
Shooter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rambo moves away.
Shooter will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A lazy left from Rambo finds it's target.

It looks like Six Shooter has been cut.
Shooter misses with a looping left.
Shooter throws a head kick but Rambo moves out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Rambo as he connects with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rambo throws an off balance right hand
and Shooter makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Shooter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rambo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shooter manages to avoid it.
John J Rambo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shooter tries for a takedown but Rambo circles away easily
letting Rambo counter with a right hand.
Rambo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shooter throws a shot to the body.
Shooter takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Shooter sizes up Rambo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rambo slips a jab from Shooter.
Rambo blocks a head kick by Shooter.
Rambo misses with an uppercut.
Shooter throws a front kick aimed at Rambo's knee but Rambo avoids it well.
Shooter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Shooter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rambo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shooter.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rambo throws a series of punches but Shooter avoids them all with ease.
Shooter looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Shooter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rambo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rambo blocks a low kick nicely.
Rambo just misses with a punch to the body.
Shooter thows a left - swing and a miss!
Shooter throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Shooter.
Rambo blocks a head kick by Shooter.
Rambo tests Shooter's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Six Shooter's cut is getting worse.
Shooter shoots in for a takedown but Rambo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Six Shooter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shooter staying out of range there.
Shooter shoots in and drives through. Rambo sprawls well.
Shooter misses with a leg kick
and Rambo counters with a three punch combo that has Shooter backing up. Shooter nods at Rambo to acknowledge the strikes.
Shooter throws a leg kick which misses Rambo's front leg but catches the back leg as Rambo tries to avoid it.
Rambo leaves Shooter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Shooter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rambo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shooter somewhat.
Rambo jabs Shooter right on the nose. Shooter blinks but takes it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rambo feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shooter sprawling to the canvas! Shooter rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Rambo finish him?!

Six Shooter's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Rambo steps in with a hook that catches Shooter right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Rambo follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Shooter looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John J Rambo!
John J Rambo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
