Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Neal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Micheal Havel!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Havel was covering up waiting for the punch and Neal finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Neal in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Neal looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Havel working a defensive guard but Neal passes into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neal is stalling here. Havel is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Neal seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Havel has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Havel tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Neal misses with a strike from the bottom.
Neal manages to get back to half guard.
Neal tries to roll over but Havel keeps him under control.

Micheal Havel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Havel shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Neal shoots in but Havel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Havel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Neal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neal tries to keep at a distance but Havel has taken the fight into the clinch.
Neal has Havel pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Havel manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Havel avoids it really well and circles away.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Neal connects with a nice short shot to Havel's temple.
Neal is nestled in close to Havel, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Havel has hold of Neal's hands but Neal slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neal is taking a breather. Havel says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Phil Neal spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
