The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grundy tries to land a front kick but Espada steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Espada on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Fenix Espada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Espada looks to score with a jab to the body but Grundy is just out of range.
Grundy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Espada.
Espada shoots in and bounces Grundy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Grundy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Grundy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Espada wants to control from the top but Grundy keeps moving.

Espada seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Benjamin Grundy wasn't doing enough on the ground.
The fight stays on the outside here - Grundy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A slow jab from Espada misses its intended target.
Grundy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Grundy misses with a low kick as Espada jumps back.
Espada connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Espada stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Grundy.
Grundy moves into the clinch.
Grundy fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Grundy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Grundy scores with a body shot.
Espada swings for the body but Grundy moves out of range.
Grundy fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Espada is out of range.
Grundy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Espada swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Espada throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Grundy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Espada tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Grundy swivels and escapes.
Espada throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Benjamin Grundy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Espada scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Espada ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grundy moves away.
Grundy connects with a leg kick. Espada looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grundy misses with a jab to the body
and Espada counters with a nice uppercut.
Espada shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Grundy eats them both and turns towards Espada to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Espada looks gassed!
Espada fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Grundy punishes Espada's body with a nice straight punch.
Espada takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like Fenix Espada has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Grundy fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Espada checks it well.
Grundy with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Espada is rocked!
Grundy misses with a head kick.
Espada is still on wobbly legs! Can Grundy finish him?
Grundy cracks Espada with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Espada looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Grundy finish him?
Grundy drops Espada with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Espada! Grundy dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benjamin Grundy!
