The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn shoots in but Umetaro avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Penn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Umetaro is looking to clinch but Penn is avoiding it.

Penn scores with a takedown into Umetaro's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Umetaro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Penn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Penn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Penn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Penn is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Umetaro can't fight it off and eventually Penn manages to take the fight to the floor. Umetaro looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Penn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Umetaro manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Penn has Umetaro in his guard.

Penn uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Penn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Umetaro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Penn.
Penn misses with a series of wild punches.

Penn shoots in for a takedown but Umetaro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that BJ Penn will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Saidani Umetaro hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Penn throws a series of strikes that have Umetaro backpedaling.
