PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Boyko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Sheen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charlie Sheen looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuri Boyko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Sheen!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sheen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sheen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sheen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Boyko controls the pace.
Boyko with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Boyko stays in close to Sheen's body and controls the position.
Boyko scoring with some ground and pound.
Boyko controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Sheen is working an open guard so Boyko takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Sheen gets caught napping as Boyko dives in and scores a takedown. Sheen manages to retain guard.
Boyko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Boyko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Boyko closes the distance and clinches.

Boyko has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sheen is trying to keep an underhook but Boyko manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Boyko is nestled in close to Sheen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Boyko connects with a nice short shot to Sheen's temple.

Boyko seems to be working for a kimura but Sheen defends the submission attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Boyko connects with a nice short shot to Sheen's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boyko works his way into side control.
Sheen gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Boyko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Boyko's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Boyko throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sheen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Boyko is in Sheen's guard.
Boyko passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Boyko remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Boyko advances to full mount.

Boyko get's back to his feet.
Sheen is breathing heavily.

Boyko closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sheen did well to prevent Boyko getting side control.
Boyko is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Boyko scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Boyko stalling.
Sheen is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Boyko scores with a couple of nice shots.
Boyko works his foot free and advances to mount.
Sheen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boyko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boyko tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Boyko swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
