Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva's entrance music is The Pot - Tool. A fine choice. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis gets the takedown into side control.
Silva tries to buck Lewis off but Lewis is having none of it.
Lewis stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A combination from Silva does no damage.
Lewis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Lewis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lewis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Silva is pressing down on Lewis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lewis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lewis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Silva's head.

Lewis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Silva's head.
Lewis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lewis stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lewis decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Lewis prevents Silva from getting the reversal.
Lewis is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Silva is surviving well by controlling Lewis's body position as best he can.
Silva is trying desperately to improve position.

Silva gets back to half guard.
Lewis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lewis.
Lewis is trying to work for a kimura but Silva is defending well.

Lewis is working for a submission of some sort.
Nice strikes from Lewis there.
Lewis uses his free foot to push down on Silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Silva.
Lewis looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lewis has control of Silva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Silva regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Silva is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Lewis is tapping! Great win for Silva!
