Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Neeyo Collin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arsi Paavali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Neeyo Collin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Arsi Paavali!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paavali shoots in for a double leg but Collin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Collin tries for a takedown but Paavali sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Paavali counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Paavali.
Collin throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Paavali tries to free his leg and advance position but Collin is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paavali postures up in Collin's guard and throws a big left but Collin blocks it.

Paavali avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Paavali with a flurry of punches that miss.
Paavali trying to control but Collin is working from the bottom.
Collin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paavali's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Collin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Collin tries to get out of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Arsi Paavali was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Paavali is defended easily by Collin.
Paavali closes the distance and clinches up with Collin, looking for a takedown. Paavali pushes Collin against the cage but Collin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Neeyo Collin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arsi Paavali.

Paavali leaves Collin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Paavali swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Collin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Paavali's guard.
Collin wants to control from the top but Paavali keeps moving.
Collin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Collin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paavali swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Collin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Paavali knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Collin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Paavali manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Collin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Collin is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Paavali is squirming around, avoiding Collin's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Paavali tries to hold on but Collin postures up.
Collin controlling the pace for now.
Collin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Paavali looks a forlorn figure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Collin is working for a guillotine from mount but Paavali frees his head quite easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neeyo Collin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Collin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Collin is trying to work for a kimura but Paavali is defending well.
Collin is thwarting Paavali's attempts to control the position.

Collin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Paavali is trying to maintain the position but Collin is very close to passing his half guard.
Paavali is looking to improve his position.

Collin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Paavali wants to improve his position but Collin is controlling well.
Collin slows the pace down in half guard.
Neeyo Collin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Collin lands a nice short elbow.

Collin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Paavali doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Collin.
Paavali is refusing to be controlled, as Collin sits in half guard.

Paavali throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Collin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Collin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Collin is looking to take a break and control but Paavali is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Collin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Collin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Paavali's head.
Paavali is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Collin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paavali keeps working.

Collin is working for a kimura but Paavali is defending it quite comfortably.
Collin thows a huge punch but Paavali dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Paavali is looking for a sweep. Collin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Collin maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Paavali could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Collin has cracked it and Paavali is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Collin!
