Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan The Wrath! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Micka Wallace! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick lands from The Wrath. Wallace keeps the fight on the outside. The Wrath wants to land a leg kick but Wallace is out of range. Wallace misses with the combination.
A head kick misses from The Wrath. The Wrath misses with a low kick.
Wallace changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The Wrath looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The Wrath tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wallace thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The Wrath stops Wallace from passing to mount. The Wrath is trying to improve his position. Wallace is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but The Wrath is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace creates some space and throws a big elbow, but The Wrath sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The Wrath is not content to let Wallace control the position. Wallace tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Wallace is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. The Wrath knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The Wrath tries to buck Wallace off but Wallace is having none of it. The Wrath is trying to buck Wallace off. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wallace is working The Wrath over with some ground and pound from side control. Wallace is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down The Wrath's shoulder. That is not cool. Wallace tries to score with some ground and pound. The Wrath controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The Wrath wants to get back to his feet but Wallace drags him back down. Wallace is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, The Wrath has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wallace trying to control the position but The Wrath is working away. The Wrath wants to control but Wallace postures up. Wallace is trying to get an arm triangle but The Wrath is defending well. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The Wrath can't do much from the bottom here. The Wrath is trying to get back to his feet. Wallace working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wallace is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. The Wrath knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wallace tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wallace has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action here. A lull in the action here as Wallace stalls from top position. Who's going to make the next move? Wallace landing strikes. Wallace has hold of The Wrath's arm. He's looking for a kimura. The Wrath seems comfortable defending it but Wallace has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! The Wrath is real pain and he's forced to tap out! The Wrath is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Wallace couldn't care less - he's delighted!
