Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Staller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray King!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staller takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
King jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Staller uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from King.
Staller bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
King lands with a straight right. Staller didn't see that one coming.
Staller steps to the side to avoid the strikes from King.

Staller moves into the clinch successfully.
King tries to land knees in the clinch but Staller avoids the damage to the body.
King gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Staller prevents a body shot from King.
King looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
King tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Staller has King pushed against the ropes.

King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Staller has him pressed against the ropes.
King fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Staller tightens his grip and picks King up, before dumping him to the ground. King manages to land in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Staller is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Staller trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Staller stays in close to King's body and controls the position.
Staller prevents King from getting back to his feet.
King can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Staller controls the pace.
Staller is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

That's time! Staller's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


King throws an overhand right that lands on Staller's shoulder, as Staller tries to avoid the shot.
King throws a hook to the side of Staller's head but Staller sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
King ducks under a wild hook from Staller.

Staller looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
King is trying to escape back to his feet but Staller uses the scramble to pass into side control.
King takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Staller tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
King prevents Staller from moving into mount.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Staller lands an elbow.
King takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Staller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Staller.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Staller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Patrick Staller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Staller scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at King to see if he's OK.

King gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

King defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Staller.

The referee warns King that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Staller looking to isolate an arm here. King doesn't see it coming and as Staller extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Staller!
