The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka throws a jab but it's blocked by Viking.
Viking gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tanaka counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Viking is looking for a sweep. Tanaka is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tanaka postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Viking utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Tanaka looking to sit in guard and control but Viking gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Tanaka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Viking manages to get himself to full guard.
Tanaka tries to free his leg and advance position but Viking is retaining full guard.

Tanaka working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Viking's head.
Viking is pulling down on Tanaka's head. It's preventing any offense from Tanaka, at least for the moment.
Tanaka throws a strike but Viking rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Viking trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Viking got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tanaka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Viking has managed to get both his arms back between Tanaka's legs - danger averted.

Tanaka lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Viking!
Tanaka cracks Viking with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Viking is squirming around, avoiding Tanaka's attempts to control the action.
Tanaka postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Viking looks a forlorn figure.
Tanaka lands a nice shot to the head.

Tanaka lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Tanaka is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Viking goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Tanaka!
