Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leto II Atreides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Ripley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripley is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Talented Mr. Ripley - Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atreides fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ripley throws a right hand that Atreides ducks under and follows up with a left that Atreides also avoids with ease.
Atreides sizes up Ripley with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Ripley misses with a low kick as Atreides jumps back.
Ripley throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ripley is trying hard to land a takedown here. Atreides sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Atreides lands a shoulder strike.
Ripley tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ripley tries to pull guard but Atreides holds him up against the cage and eventually Ripley drops back down to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ripley shoots in looking for a takedown. Atreides tries to sprawl out of it but Ripley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Atreides manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Atreides lands with an uppercut that bounces Ripley off the cage and back into range.

Atreides bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Atreides sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ripley is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Atreides tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Atreides stands up and beckons Ripley to his feet.
Ripley pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Ripley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Atreides lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Atreides shoots in and gets a takedown into Ripley's guard.
Atreides content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Atreides trying to control the position from guard on top but Ripley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ripley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Atreides manages to get himself to full guard.
Ripley passes Atreides's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Atreides tries to roll over but Ripley keeps him under control.

Ripley thows a huge punch but Atreides dodges it nicely.

Ripley is working for a kimura but Atreides is defending it quite comfortably.
Atreides wants to control but Ripley is keeping busy.
Atreides is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ripley's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ripley's back!

Ripley ducks under a wild hook from Atreides.
Ripley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Atreides changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ripley tries to avoid it but Atreides manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ripley to the ground. Ripley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ripley misses with a few strikes there.
Ripley throws a right hand that Atreides ducks under and follows up with a left that Atreides also avoids with ease.

Atreides lands a hook that snaps the head of Ripley backwards.

Ripley wants to pass the guard but Atreides is keeping the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Atreides is landing with some decent strikes but Ripley is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Atreides is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ripley's shoulder. That is not cool.
Atreides's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A lull in the action here as Atreides stalls from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Leto II Atreides just wasn't active enough.
Atreides throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ripley sees it coming and avoids it easily.
No luck for Ripley with that takedown attempt.

Atreides drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
