Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scot Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pvt. Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pvt. Palmer! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor gets the takedown into side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Palmer struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taylor tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Palmer is looking for a sweep. Palmer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sloppy strikes there by Taylor. Taylor landing a few strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palmer is working to avoid the ground and pound but Taylor connects with a decent elbow. Palmer is not content to let Taylor control the position. Palmer trying to remain calm as Taylor controls from the top position. Palmer is looking for a sweep. Taylor slows the pace down. That's four minutes gone in the round. Palmer avoids the attempt from Taylor to control. Taylor tries to reverse the position but Palmer maintains control. Taylor is squirming around, avoiding Palmer's attempts to control the action. Taylor wants to try and get back to his feet. Taylor is looking to improve his position but Palmer isn't that keen on the idea. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Palmer raining down shots from the mount! That was a close round but I would say that Scot Taylor will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Taylor shoots in and drives through. Palmer sprawls well. Taylor throws a series of punches but Palmer moves out of range. Taylor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Palmer as he avoids it easily. An inside leg kick lands from Palmer. Palmer delivers a nice body kick. Taylor shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Taylor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Palmer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Taylor somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scot Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him. Palmer throws a head kick but Taylor moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crunch! Palmer slams his shin into Taylor's torso. Palmer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Palmer wants it to stay on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Taylor. Scot Taylor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Taylor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Palmer takes a shot right to the bread basket.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Palmer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A momentary lapse in concentration from Palmer enables Taylor to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Palmer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Palmer keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully. Taylor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Palmer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Taylor throws and elbow that misses. Palmer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Taylor's guard. Nice move by Palmer! Palmer pushing down on Taylor's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palmer passes the guard and advances to mount! Taylor tries to get back to half guard but can't. Taylor is bucking up trying to escape but Palmer cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Taylor wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Palmer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Palmer lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Palmer looking to control but Taylor is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Taylor is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Palmer scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Taylor?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Taylor is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
