PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Sleep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Button (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trevor Button told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sleep swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Button looks for a takedown but Sleep sprawls well.

Button closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sleep tries to kick Button off but Button keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Button keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Sleep blocking the ground and pound attempt from Button.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sleep looks like he's trying to stand up.

Button stands up and beckons Sleep to join him on the feet.

Button gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sleep escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Button will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sleep, right into the meat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Button shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Button showed some decent athleticism there.

Sleep takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Button has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sleep's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sleep is squirming around, avoiding Button's attempts to control the action.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sleep is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Button cracks Sleep with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Button is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Button tries to control but Sleep wriggling away.
Sleep knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Button on the ground.

Sleep cracks Button with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Sleep has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Button to stand back up!

Button is rocked!
Crack! Sleep connects with the perfect overhand right and Button falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Sleep!
