The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ninja darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rodiguez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ninja's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ninja's back!
Ninja is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Rodiguez is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ninja defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Ninja wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodiguez keeps working.
Rodiguez is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ninja is controlling him well.
Rodiguez is trying to control Ninja's posture but Ninja avoids it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ninja is trying to move to mount but Rodiguez reverses beautifully and ends up in Ninja's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rodiguez wants to control from the top but Ninja keeps moving.

Ninja fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rodiguez to the ground. Ninja is now in Rodiguez's guard.
Rodiguez is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ninja rolls with it to try and escape but Rodiguez cranks on the arm and Ninja is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
