Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Sheilds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Decimus Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximus has chosen Set It Off-MadBall as his entrance music. Decimus Maximus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Sheilds! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Decimus Maximus! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maximus gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sheilds to score an easy takedown into full guard. Sheilds trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Maximus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sheilds doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sheilds manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sheilds stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maximus swivels though and keeps the full guard. Maximus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sheilds got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maximus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sheilds has managed to get both his arms back between Maximus's legs - danger averted. Sheilds landing some decent shots from guard. Maximus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sheilds defends it easily. Sheilds forces his way into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maximus is looking for a sweep. Sheilds is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Maximus on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Sheilds passes to full mount! Sheilds with good strikes from the mount here! Maximus is looking to get to half guard. Sheilds postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Maximus looks a forlorn figure.
Maximus bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sheilds controlling the position. Sheilds knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maximus on the ground. Maximus postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sheilds is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maximus, into his guard. Maximus looks gassed! Maximus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sheilds can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maximus working for a triangle but Sheilds defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sheilds looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Maximus can't keep his opponent in guard - Sheilds advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Sheilds working Maximus over with strikes. Maximus wants to get back to full guard. Maximus taking some punishment here, with Sheilds in his half guard. Maximus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sheilds wants to pass the guard but Maximus is defending well. Maximus actively working from the bottom here. Sheilds is looking for a kimura here.
Sheilds takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Ground and pound from Sheilds. Sheilds landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Maximus regains full guard. Nicely done. Sheilds engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Sheilds keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Maximus's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sheilds is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sheilds frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Maximus tries to improve his position but Sheilds has taken his back! Sheilds has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Maximus tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Sheilds pushes Maximus away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
