Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eli Barden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nannie Doss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eli Barden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nannie Doss! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doss tries to close the distance and clinch but Barden swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Doss tries to clinch up but Barden circles away and keeps his distance. Barden does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Doss fails in his attempt to clinch. Doss throws out a powerful jab. The fight stays on the outside here - Doss looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Doss tries to clinch but Barden moves out of range. Barden has closed the distance and engaged Doss in a clinch.
Barden lands a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Barden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doss swivels though and keeps the full guard. Barden stops Doss from standing up. Barden looking to sit in guard and control but Doss gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Barden preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doss throws a big elbow that misses. Barden pushes Doss off and gets back to his feet.
Barden cracks Doss with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Barden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Doss is pushing Barden's head away, looking to escape. Barden manages to hold on to the position though. Doss takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Barden wants to control but Doss is keeping him busy. Barden lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barden in side control, throwing shots but Doss defends. Barden tries for a kimura but Doss is defending well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Barden tries to advance to mount but Doss denies him. Barden working the ground and pound from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barden tries to move to mount but Doss blocks the move with his legs. Barden in side control, throwing shots but Doss defends. Barden is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Doss is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Barden tries to advance to mount but Doss denies him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barden sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Doss is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Barden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Doss, who protects the arm well. Barden is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Doss has escaped the position, nice work there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barden cracks Doss with a big right hand but Doss just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Barden dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Doss stuffs the takedown. Doss throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Doss avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Doss tries to clinch there but Barden circles away.
Barden swats away the attempt to clinch by Doss. Doss moves to clinch but Barden breaks away and Barden connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Doss punishes Barden's body with a nice straight punch. Barden misses the shot to the body. Doss is looking to clinch but Barden is avoiding it.
Barden throws a sloppy head kick and Doss moves out of range easily. Barden gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Barden is working for takedown but Doss is calmly controlling the position for now. Doss throws a head punch that misses. Doss breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Doss moves into the clinch. Barden taking a breather. Barden scores with a nice hook to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doss scores with a nice hook to the head. Doss lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Barden backwards. Doss lands a left hand that snaps the head of Barden backwards. Barden goes for a takedown attempt but Doss pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eli Barden. That's going to take a lot out of him. Doss tries to clinch but Barden is having none of it. Barden looks to score with a jab to the body but Doss is just out of range. Barden shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Doss sprawls well. Doss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barden gets slowly back to his feet. Barden misses with a straight left. Barden throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Barden avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Barden cracks Doss with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Barden moves out of range as Doss strikes. Barden slips a jab from Doss.

Doss uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barden. Barden fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Doss, pushing him back against the cage. Barden blocks a body shot from Doss. Barden lands a body shot. Doss escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Barden ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Doss moves away. Doss doesn't manage to clinch there - Barden circles away.
Doss is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Barden shoots in looking for a takedown. Doss tries to sprawl out of it but Barden keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Doss manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Doss wants to clinch but Barden slips to the side and Barden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Doss's guard now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Doss can do anything to dispel that myth. Barden throwing strikes from guard but Doss blocks nicely. Barden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barden slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Barden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Doss, who protects the arm well. Barden is looking to take a break and control but Doss is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Barden is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Doss has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barden is putting a hurting on Doss here, landing some big shots from side control. Barden laying and praying for a moment but Doss takes advantage and regains half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Doss is not content to let Barden control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Barden dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Barden shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Doss as he avoids it easily. Doss rushes Barden and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Barden lands with a right to the head. Doss is looking to break free of the clinch but Barden has double underhooks. A head punch blocked on the inside by Barden. Barden has Doss pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Doss manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Barden has Doss pressed against the cage, preventing Doss from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Doss throws a punch but it's blocked by Barden. Doss tries to throw a body punch but Barden avoids it by throwing Doss back against the cage. Barden lands with a light punch inside. Doss digs a right hand underneath Barden's ribcage. Barden let out a lung full of air as it connected. Doss tries to work over Barden's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Barden prevents a body shot from Doss. Barden lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Doss backwards. Barden avoiding damage.
Barden's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Doss throws a punch but it's blocked by Barden.
That's one minute gone in the round. A shot in the inside from Barden. Barden lands a shoulder strike. Barden throws a punch but it's blocked by Doss. Barden is looking to control Doss's arms but Doss gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barden has his back to the cage. Barden is trying to drag Doss to the mat but Doss just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eli Barden. That's going to take a lot out of him. Doss breaks the clinch.

Doss tries to clinch but fails miserably and Barden connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nannie Doss seems to be getting the better of the standup. Doss has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Barden finds it's way round the side to connect with Doss's head. Barden drives through with a takedown into guard. Doss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Barden throws a big elbow that misses. Doss keeping moving, preventing Barden from controlling successfully. Barden slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Barden misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Eli Barden is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doss dodges the ground and pound from Barden. Barden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The strikes coming from Barden are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Doss being controlled for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barden is looking to take a break and control but Doss is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Doss is trying to buck Barden off. Nannie Doss has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Barden controls the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Eli Barden showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Barden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Eli Barden! After the fight, Eli Barden was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
