Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Mohammed Abdullah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Harley Tanner!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner tries to clinch there but Abdullah circles away.
Tanner looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Tanner has a takedown stuffed.
Abdullah throws a right hand that Tanner ducks under and follows up with a left that Tanner also avoids with ease.
Abdullah misses with the combination.
Tanner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Abdullah connects with a good right hand that stumbles Tanner. Tanner circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Abdullah misses with a few strikes there.
Abdullah throws a nice looking combination but Tanner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tanner doesn't manage to clinch there - Abdullah circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tanner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Abdullah's guard.
Abdullah wants to stand up but Tanner is controlling him.

Tanner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Abdullah gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Abdullah wants to stand up but Tanner is controlling him.
Abdullah wriggles free and stands up.
Abdullah clinches with his opponent.
Tanner pulls Abdullah into guard.
Abdullah has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tanner is proving hard to escape from.
Abdullah gets to his feet - Tanner follows without any prompting.

Abdullah gets caught flat footed, as Tanner shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tanner gets to his feet. Abdullah looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Tanner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Abdullah looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abdullah is looking to get back to his feet here but Tanner is keeping cool and he's managed to take Abdullah's back.

Tanner is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Tanner is persistently looking for the submission but Abdullah is defending it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tanner tries to get the hooks in deep but Abdullah pushed the leg off.
Tanner lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Tanner.
Abdullah wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harley Tanner dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tanner has his foot on Abdullah's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Abdullah works his way back into a safe position though.
