And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tropical Punch!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schlemenko sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Punch moves out of range as Schlemenko strikes.
Schlemenko misses with an uppercut. Punch saw that one coming.

Punch scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Punch throws an elbow but Schlemenko slips to the side and avoids it well.

Punch wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Schlemenko, who protects the arm well.
Schlemenko seems a little lost for a moment, as Punch dominates the positioning.
Schlemenko parries the strikes from Punch easily there. Punch is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Schlemenko to escape.
The strikes coming from Punch are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Punch cracks Schlemenko with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Punch has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Schlemenko!
Punch is landing with some decent strikes but Schlemenko is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Punch has hold of Schlemenko's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Schlemenko manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Punch sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Punch throws some wild stikes that Schlemenko manages to avoid easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Punch lands a big elbow.
Schlemenko really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Punch looking to ground and pound but Schlemenko is blocking nicely.
Schlemenko is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Punch is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Schlemenko is desperately trying to improve his position but Punch has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Punch counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Schlemenko's guard now.

Schlemenko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Punch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Schlemenko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Punch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Punch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Schlemenko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Punch throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Schlemenko keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Punch is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Schlemenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Punch moves nicely into side control.
Schlemenko is pushing Punch's head away, looking to escape. Punch manages to hold on to the position though.

Punch is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Schlemenko is trying to escape and Punch transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Schlemenko is forced to tap! Nice work there by Punch! Very nice indeed!
