The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hanzo throws a sloppy head kick and Plouffe moves out of range easily.
Plouffe scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hanzo connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Plouffe to the floor! Hanzo dives in looking for the finish!

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rain Hanzo.
Plouffe clobbers Hanzo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Plouffe lands a nice hook to Hanzo's body. Hanzo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Plouffe might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That has opened up Andre Plouffe's cut even more.
Hanzo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Plouffe keeping moving, preventing Hanzo from controlling successfully.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hanzo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Plouffe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Plouffe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hanzo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Plouffe cracks Hanzo with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Plouffe throws a lazy right hand but Hanzo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hanzo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Plouffe pinned against the cage. Plouffe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hanzo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Oh Hanzo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hanzo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Plouffe as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rain Hanzo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
