These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beckenbauer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
espinoza tries to clinch there but Beckenbauer circles away.
Beckenbauer closes this distance looking for a takedown but espinoza circles away.

and espinoza counters with an inside leg kick.
espinoza looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Beckenbauer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Beckenbauer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Beckenbauer wants to finish this one by submission but espinoza is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Beckenbauer.
Beckenbauer tries to control but espinoza wriggling away.
espinoza tries to reverse the position but Beckenbauer maintains control.
Beckenbauer trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
espinoza wants to control but Beckenbauer is having none of it.

Beckenbauer looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Beckenbauer is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. espinoza is in real trouble.

Beckenbauer has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for espinoza! Can he survive? No! He's out! Beckenbauer gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
