Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nicolas Kapers! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Dayne! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dayne cracks Kapers with an open hand slap. Dayne throws a chopping leg kick but Kapers manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Dayne misses with a few strikes there.
Dayne looks to land a combination but Kapers avoids it well. Dayne darts in and clinches Kapers up against the cage. Dayne lands a left hand.
Dayne tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Kapers. Kapers has Dayne pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dayne manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Dayne scores with a shot to the side of Kapers's head. Dayne gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kapers.
A nice right hand lands inside from Dayne.
Kapers is rocked! Kapers tightens his grip and picks Dayne up, before dumping him to the ground. Dayne manages to land in guard. Dayne looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kapers is one step ahead there. Kapers tries to free his leg and advance position but Dayne is retaining full guard. Kapers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dayne keeping moving, preventing Kapers from controlling successfully. Kapers stands and throws Dayne's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kapers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dayne sneaks back into half guard. Dayne manages to get to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kapers passes Dayne's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Dayne makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dayne. Kapers is breathing heavily. Dayne thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dayne is on top in guard.
Dayne must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kapers looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kapers looking for a guillotine here but Dayne defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kapers is looking for a triangle here but Dayne uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Dayne working the head and body with strikes. Dayne scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kapers to see if he's OK. Kapers is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Kapers is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dayne's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Kapers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kapers looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Dayne is defending well. Kapers quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Dayne has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Kapers celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
