The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pizzato drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pizzato trying to control but Heredia is working from the bottom.
Pizzato trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pizzato throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Heredia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Pizzato trying to control the position from guard on top but Heredia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pizzato is nestled in close to Heredia, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Heredia is refusing to be controlled, as Pizzato sits in half guard.
Pizzato is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Pizzato throws a strike but Heredia avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Heredia is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pizzato has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Heredia is working for a guillotine from mount but Pizzato frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pizzato holds on, trying desperately to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Heredia avoids the attempt from Pizzato to control.
Pizzato is just holding on here. Heredia manages to take his back.
Heredia doesn't have the hooks in and Pizzato manages to turn into his guard.

Pizzato wants to pass the guard but Heredia is keeping the position.

Heredia regains half guard there - taking advantage of Pizzato's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
