Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Nappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hammer Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dirk Nappa has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dirk Nappa seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dirk Nappa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hammer Fire! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fire darts in trying to clinch and Nappa counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fire's guard now. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Nappa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Nappa won't allow Fire to get back to his feet. Nappa chips away with some ground and pound. Nappa throwing strikes from guard but Fire blocks nicely. Fire looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fire preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nappa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Nappa is in close to Fire's body, working some short punches and elbows. Nappa connects with a couple of short punches. Nappa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Fire has an active guard here but Nappa has managed to pass into half guard.

Nappa lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Fire trying to control but Nappa postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fire trying to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hammer Fire. Fire tries to bum rush Nappa with a series of wild strikes but Nappa uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A punch combination from Fire misses. A bone on bone clash there as Nappa blocks the leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fire lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Nappa has a takedown stuffed. Nappa lands a slapping body shot.
Fire looks gassed! Fire throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Nappa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nappa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fire swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nappa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fire defends it nicely. Nappa listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by Fire as he connects with a hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nappa throws a shot from downtown. Fire moves away and avoids it. Fire misses with a double jab
and Nappa counters with a lovely straight right hand! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nappa is defended easily by Fire. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dirk Nappa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nappa showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fire.
Nappa works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fire gets a double leg takedown into Nappa's guard. Nappa being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dirk Nappa dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Fire gets the takedown into side control. Fire wants to take a breather but Nappa manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Fire. Fire wants to control from the top but Nappa keeps moving. Nappa tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nappa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fire gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nappa wants to improve his position but instead Fire has moved into half guard.

Nappa regains full guard. Nicely done. Nappa has an active guard here but Fire has managed to pass into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fire trying to control but Nappa is working from the bottom. Fire looking to sit in guard and control but Nappa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Nappa wants to pass the guard but Fire is keeping the position. Nappa throwing strikes but missing. Fire looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nappa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Fire controls Nappa momentarily but Nappa frees himself. Fire controlling the position. Nappa connects with a couple of short punches. Nappa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Fire is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nappa is in close to Fire's body, working some short punches and elbows. Nappa with a nice head shot there. Fire controlling Nappa's posture. Nappa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Nappa throwing strikes from guard but Fire blocks nicely.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nappa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Nappa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Nappa trying to control but Fire is working from the bottom. Nappa content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Fire has his hands on Nappa's head, controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nappa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Nappa postures up.

Fire walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Fire swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nappa counters with a straight right hand. Nappa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fire looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A punch combination from Fire misses. Fire moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Fire throws a left and a right that both miss
and Nappa counters with a straight right hand. Fire tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nappa paws at him with a jab and circles away. Fire scores with a hook. Nappa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nappa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fire moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Fire pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nappa is out of range and Fire settles back down.

Fire takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nappa scores with a takedown into Fire's guard. Fire wants to stand and escape but Nappa is having none of it. Nappa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fire works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Fire utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Nappa landing with the ground and pound. Nappa throwing strikes but missing. Fire looking for a sweep. Not yet Fire, not yet. Dirk Nappa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nappa chips away with some ground and pound. Nappa working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fire's head. Fire controls Nappa momentarily but Nappa frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fire wants to sweep here but Nappa controlling him for the moment. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nappa makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Nappa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Nappa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Nappa forces his way into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nappa connects with a nice short shot to Fire's temple. Nappa scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Nappa wants to pass the guard but Fire is defending well. Nappa working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Fire is rocked! Nappa lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Fire quite badly. Fire pulls Nappa in close trying to recover. Nappa postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Fire on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Fire doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dirk Nappa! Dirk Nappa decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
