Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hiroyuki Okamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jet Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jet Li will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroyuki Okamoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jet Li! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Okamoto swinging wildly here.
Okamoto takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Okamoto gets a double leg takedown into Li's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Okamoto lands a couple of decent looking shots. Okamoto trying to control the position from guard on top but Li is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Li throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Li is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Okamoto is controlling him. Okamoto slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Okamoto cracks Li with an elbow. That is naaassty. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Okamoto is staying tight to Li's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's one minute gone in the round. Okamoto landing strikes. Li tries to improve position but can't. Okamoto trying to control the action but Li is working from the bottom. Li takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Okamoto scoring with punches and elbows. Okamoto working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Okamoto working away. Li throws Okamoto to one side and escapes! Li uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Okamoto.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Okamoto throws a lazy uppercut
and Li counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Li smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Okamoto with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Okamoto looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Okamoto postures up.
Okamoto trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Okamoto seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Okamoto stops Li from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Okamoto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Li swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jet Li wasn't active enough on the ground. Okamoto fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Okamoto shoots in and drives through. Li sprawls well. Li throws out a powerful jab. Okamoto works the jab nicely.
Li is rocked!
It looks like Jet Li has been cut. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Okamoto scores with a jab to the body. Okamoto throws a head kick but Li moves out of range.
Okamoto misses with a head kick.
Okamoto fails to land the takedown. Nice uppercut lands for Okamoto. That snapped Li's head back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Li defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Okamoto. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiroyuki Okamoto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Okamoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Li's waist but Li gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Okamoto off to one side. Li blocks a head kick by Okamoto.
Li fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A head kick misses from Li. Okamoto throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Okamoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Okamoto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Li sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Okamoto somewhat. Li goes for a high kick. It partially lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hiroyuki Okamoto dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jet Li's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Okamoto shoots in for a takedown but Li shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Li misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Li has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Okamoto. Hiroyuki Okamoto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Li closes the distance and clinches. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Okamoto. Okamoto lands a takedown into guard.
Okamoto tries to free his leg and advance position but Li is retaining full guard. Okamoto trying to control the position from guard on top but Li is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Okamoto is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Okamoto trying to control but Li is working from the bottom. Okamoto passes into half guard. Li is looking to control Okamoto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Li avoid being mounted? Li tries to roll over but Okamoto keeps him under control. Li trying to control here.
Okamoto throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Okamoto passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Li! Okamoto landing punches. Okamoto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Li is looking to escape. Li tries to hold on but Okamoto pushes him away. Hiroyuki Okamoto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Li really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Okamoto postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Li looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Okamoto has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Li's face.
Li is still in real trouble! Can Okamoto finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Okamoto is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Li can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That has opened up Jet Li's cut even more. Li really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Li takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Okamoto's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
