Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
20 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Augustus Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jabari Jelani!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Cole misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cole. Jelani does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cole misses the shot to the body.
Jelani blocks a jab.
Jelani closes the distance and clinches up with Cole, looking for a takedown. Jelani pushes Cole against the cage but Cole circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jelani misses with a head kick.
Cole ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jelani moves away.
Good shot there by Cole.
It looks like Jabari Jelani has been cut.
Cole moves out of range of the body kick from Jelani.
Jelani shoots for a takedown but Cole saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cole fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Jelani checks it well.
Cole throws a nice looking combination but Jelani bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cole throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Cole digs a good body shot into Jelani's ribs.
Jelani looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jelani takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cole shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Cole lands a left and a right that send Jelani crashing to the mat, dazed. Cole thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Augustus Cole is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cole lands with a shot to the body.
Cole clobbers Jelani with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That has opened up Jabari Jelani's cut even more.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Cole! Jelani is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Augustus Cole!
