Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carmelo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allen has chosen The Realest Sport as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carmelo Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Allen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Allen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Allen shoots in but Sanchez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sanchez fails with the takedown.
Allen wants to clinch up but Sanchez keeps it at a distance.
Sanchez misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Allen counters with a single leg into guard. Sanchez didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Allen stands and throws Sanchez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Allen looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Sanchez is avoiding damage well.

Sanchez is pushing Allen's head away, looking to escape. Allen manages to hold on to the position though.

Allen is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Sanchez reverses the position - he's now on top in Allen's guard.

Sanchez wants to stand but Allen is controlling his posture from full guard.
Allen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Sanchez won't allow Allen to get back to his feet.

Allen shoots in but no luck this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez wants to stand but Allen is controlling the position.

Allen throws a big right hand that misses.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason Allen was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Allen controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself.

Sanchez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Allen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sanchez wants to get up but he can't break Allen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanchez throws a jab but it's blocked by Allen.
Sanchez throws a sloppy head kick and Allen moves out of range easily.
Allen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Allen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sanchez can pounce on him.
Sanchez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Allen shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A head kick misses from Allen.

Allen ducks under a wild hook from Sanchez.
Sanchez moves out of range of the body kick from Allen.

Allen moves into the clinch.
Allen goes for a takedown attempt but Sanchez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Sanchez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sanchez misses with a few strikes there.
Allen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sanchez.
Sanchez paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Allen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Allen avoids the head kick by Sanchez.
Allen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sanchez sprawls well. Sanchez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Allen gets slowly back to his feet.

Allen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sanchez to the ground. Allen is now in Sanchez's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Allen's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Allen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sanchez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Allen is controlling him.
Allen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Allen wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jason Allen.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Allen.
Jason Allen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sanchez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanchez shoots in but Allen avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt - Allen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Allen shoots in for a double leg but Sanchez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jason Allen will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Sanchez is rocked!

Allen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Oh Sanchez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Allen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Allen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sanchez turns into him and now he's in Allen's guard.
Allen is adopting a defensive guard.

Allen is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Sanchez seems to have got his legs back now.

Allen can't get the takedown.
Allen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sanchez pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Allen breaks the clinch.
No luck for Allen with that takedown attempt.

Sanchez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Allen. That did some damage!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Allen shoots in and gets a takedown into Sanchez's guard.

Allen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sanchez dives on top into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanchez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jason Allen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sanchez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Allen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sanchez, into his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jason Allen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Allen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
