The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mumps looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jones looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Mumps fails with a takedown attempt.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mumps tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mumps to the ground. Mumps escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mumps tries to improve position but can't.
Mumps is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jones is controlling him well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mumps can't do much from the bottom here.
Mumps is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jones's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Mumps is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.

Mumps throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Jones because Mumps loaded up on that one.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mumps working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Jones looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Mumps! Submission of the night perhaps?
