The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Donk. Vanagandr catches Cat right on the button with a cross.

Vanagandr defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cat.
Cat shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vanagandr sprawls well. Vanagandr wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cat gets slowly back to his feet.
Cat is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vanagandr.
Eorl Vanagandr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cat shoots for a takedown but Vanagandr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vanagandr tries to bum rush Cat with a series of wild strikes but Cat uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vanagandr looks to score with a jab to the body but Cat is just out of range.
Cat looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Vanagandr!

Vanagandr is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cat misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Vanagandr is looking to improve his position but Cat isn't that keen on the idea.

Cat has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cat thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Cat postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Vanagandr looks a forlorn figure.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cat tries to control but Vanagandr wriggling away.
Poor strikes thrown by Cat there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
A big strike lands for Cat! That's really hurt Vanagandr and he's turned his back - Cat keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Cat jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
