The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheng pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Cheng counters with a big head kick but Martin shrugs it off.

and Martin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Cheng swings for the body but Martin moves out of range.
Martin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Cheng throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Michael Martin has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Martin tries to land a leg kick but Cheng saw it coming and moves away.

Cheng takes a swing at Martin's ribcage but misses.

Martin jabs Cheng right on the nose. Cheng blinks but takes it well.

Michael Martin seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Martin takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Cheng wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Martin is breathing heavily.
Martin moves out of range of the leg kick from Cheng.
Martin ducks under a wild hook from Cheng.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cheng checks a leg kick.

and Cheng counters with a right hand to the body.
Cheng jabs Martin right on the nose. Martin blinks but takes it well.
Martin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cheng doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Martin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Martin steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Cheng. That one must have hurt.
Cheng takes the fight into the clinch.
Cheng manages to break the clinch.
Cheng throws a right and a left that Martin avoids nicely.
Cheng looking to score a takedown here. Martin is defending well but Cheng drives through and ends up in Martin's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Martin wants to stand and escape but Cheng is having none of it.
Cheng is looking to advance position but Martin has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
